VERA KATZ, MFA in Directing and Acting - Boston University

Vera J. Katz has directed more than 50 theatrical productions.  She won an award for directing the Best Production in Dundalk, Ireland's International Festival.  She has taught such notables as Phylicia Rashad, Debbie Allen, Lynn Whitfield, Isaiah Washington, Clinton Turner Davis, and Lynda Gravatt.  Professor Katz, who taught acting and directing for 32 years at Howard university Department of Theatre Arts before retiring in 2001, is presently a part-time faculty member of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts where she teaches acting.
